Marvel Team-Up Vol. 1 013The Granite Sky!
Script: Len Wein
Art by: Gil Kane, F. Giacoia
Lettered by: June Braverman
Colorist: Glynis Wein
Originally published: September 1973

Hmmm…Len Wein’s narration is almost as annoying as Gerry Conway’s. I’m also not digging Gil Kane’s work here. I’m totally back and forth with him, it’s crazy. I really liked what he’s been doing recently, but here everything’s too rough, there are too many lines. It makes all the characters look old.

In this issue Spidey and Captain America team up to help S.H.I.E.L.D. fight the Grey Gargoyle (spelled both “Gray” and “Grey” in the same issue!) and A.I.M.

My favourite part of the issue:

stinking arachnid!

This was pretty typical fare. Other than the fact that Spidey is still ostensibly considering quitting, this issue doesn’t serve to advance the greater story arc.
