The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 1 111To Stalk a Spider!
Writer: Gerry Conway
Pencils: John Romita
Letterer: John Costanza

Stan’s out, so now we have Gerry Conway writing in Amazing. This is crap. I hope to god this doesn’t keep up. PLUS, the mystery guy watching the Gibbon was Kraven. I frigging hate Kraven, and I’m totally not in the mood for a Kraven issue. It’ll be a miracle if this issue gets a good rating from me.

By the way, the Gibbon brings up a good point on the splash page – Kraven is supposed to be dead. The last time we saw him, he was going over a cliff in the Savage Land. The explanation for his survival? “My friend, in time you’ll learn– Kraven dies hard!” I call bullshit. His left arm is in a sling, though, so I guess that’s something.

Whatever, Pete goes to May’s and finds a note addressed to him. She has taken off somewhere and I don’t care. Meanwhile, Kraven gives Gibbon a bunch of tea that makes him into a crazy rage-filled beast-man. Gibbon turns on him, but it doesn’t really go anywhere. Somehow Kraven hypnotizes the Gibbon, and orders him out to kill Spider-Man.

He does.

No, just kidding! He finds Spidey, but ends up getting his ass trounced. THE END.
