This picks up right where 107 left off, which means I need to figure out some placement stuff. I think all those Team-Up issues come after Spider-Man’s fight with the robot, but before he sees Flash get picked up by the cops.
Here’s what happens: the MPs were picking up Flash for his protection. While he was in Vietnam he stumbled upon a hidden ancient temple with wonderful peaceful monks and a chick that he may or may not have gotten freaky with. Later, he found out that the military was going to bomb the temple, and he rushed off to warn his new friends. The warning didn’t take, they all got bombed and presumably died. Now there are a whole whack of worshippers that believe Flash caused the bombing of the temple and are after him for revenge. Despite Spider-Man’s best efforts, they manage to get hold of him by the end of this book.
This issue was not bad, though it all just seemed like setup. Hopefully the story picks up a bit in the next issue(s), because I think it could be interesting. Flash has some amnesia about some things, so the resolution of that could be interesting.
Right before this, one of the Vietnamese guys says something in Chinese. Oh, 1970s.
